Brett - you always were one for surprise and thinking out gift-giving. You are the Jack Bauer of Spontaneity.

Bill - gift registries definitely make things easier, and I'm actually surprised they aren't used more. The problem I sometimes have with them is that it just takes some of the surprise and thinking out of gift-giving if someone can just go to your list and pick something off of it.

However, the stats are compelling and definitely require a little thinking on how to implement some form of gift registry or wish list.

Gift registries are definitely a great way to attract traffic. We're one of the leading providers of private-label gift registry technology and we find that the average gift registry will attract 20 to 40 visitors. Out of these visitors 2 to 5 will set up new registries, which will in turn attract 20 to 40 visitors... and so on.
